Venetian Beads & More
Venetian Glass, more commonly known as Trade Beads, has a rich history in Murano, Italy where glass makers are still using the same methods and designs. Created with glass rods, they became a valuable trade method into Africa, India, and the Americas, particularly in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Silver work in Northern Africa can be identified by its intricate designs and enamel work. Some styles are known as Berber, Tiznit, and Moroccan silver, and jewelry items were often used as dowry for traveling communities.
